Akita Meijyo was established as the foundation to raise Akita sake’s presence beyond the prefecture. Aiming to supply sake beginning with the Tokyo metropolitan area and then the rest of the country, the company has introduced many state-of-the-art machinery, transforming itself from a home garage operation to a modern company, gracefully riding out turbulent times. We find out where it stands 100 years since its founding, and its future plans.
