Kyu-inabakaido Oharajuku, close to the borders between Okayama and Tottori. Sitting quietly in the historic streetscape, Tanaka Shuzojo has been brewing local sake that is loved by people in town as well as in surrounding towns. However, the context of sake industry has radically changed. Smaller breweries face a situation that shakes up the grounds of their business. Then a transformative opportunity arrived. We talked with the owner, Mr. Hiroyuki Tanaka, to find out what it was, and the support that drove it.
