Ryuta Tanaka who had been working as a system engineer in Tokyo, returned to his hometown at the age of 26, at his father’s pleading. The brewery’s reality that awaited him exceeded his imagination, but with the advice of those around him, he untangled one problem at a time. For 30 years he has ran with his philosophy of “sake that can only be made here”, nurtured by the rich natural environment of Iiyama. He shared the paths taken, and today’s generational change and post-typhoon efforts.
